How I can help

As a psychologist, I can help you understand and improve your relationship with yourself, your partner or your family. All sessions can be held in English, in person near Aarhus or online. Read below about the specific issues you can get help with:

Couples therapy

Does it feel as if your partner constantly misunderstands you?

Are you struggling with poor communication, recurring conflicts or a lack of security in your relationship?

Couples therapy can help you find solutions, rebuild trust and create healthier, more open communication. Let me help you strengthen your relationship.

Stress

Does it feel as if you are drowning in everyday life?

Stress is not a diagnosis but a state of overwhelm that arises when demands exceed your resources – whether because of work, family or major life changes.

I can help you identify what is causing your stress, calm your body through relaxation and bring more clarity to your thoughts. Finally, we develop strategies to prevent stress in the future.

Family therapy

Do you often feel misunderstood, or react more strongly than you can explain – especially in close relationships?

Perhaps you are pregnant, a new parent or have many years of experience, yet still find new and unexpected feelings coming up. Family relationships can be both precious and challenging, because they stir up old patterns that can distort how we perceive other people's intentions.

In therapy, you gain insight into what affects you, and how clear and open, vulnerable communication can strengthen your relationships.

Depression

Do you feel tired, low or weighed down by guilt?

These feelings are normal, but if they take up most of your everyday life, professional help may be needed. If there are lasting signs of depression, we explore what is keeping you in this state, so we can create new, more caring strategies.

Together we work on breaking the old patterns and finding a kinder, more self-compassionate way of being in the world.

I have taken something with me that I haven't experienced with other psychologists, and this time I feel that something has really landed inside me, so that I now feel calm and have a clear overview.

Anxiety

Does it feel as if you are always on high alert?

Our alarm system is there to protect us from danger, but with anxiety the nervous system becomes overactive and sounds the alarm at even small uncertainties. Fortunately, you can learn to calm yourself and understand the unconscious mechanisms behind the reaction.

Together with a psychologist, you explore your inner world and find strategies for creating more calm.

Low self-esteem

Are you hard on yourself and put other people's needs before your own?

Perhaps you find it hard to set boundaries, doubt whether you are good enough, or overthink things. It can drain your joy in life and hold you back from the life you want.

In therapy, you gain insight into where your self-criticism comes from, what role it has played, and how you can replace it with new, self-compassionate strategies.

Life crises

Are you in the middle of a life change and in need of support?

Perhaps you are facing an important choice, going through grief or living with a critical illness. When life changes on several fronts at once, getting help to navigate the hard parts can make all the difference.

In therapy, you gain clarity about what matters most to you, and support in finding your way through your situation.

Grief

Do you feel consumed and overwhelmed by your grief?

Grief can be one of the hardest experiences to deal with, and navigating the sense of loss can feel overwhelming.

Therapy can help you work through your grief, understand your feelings and find ways to heal. Together we make room for the process of grieving and support you in finding a way forward.
